Behind the Winter Edit: The Story of How It Came to Life

Behind the Winter Edit: The Story of How It Came to Life

When I first started dreaming up the Winter Edit, I knew I wanted the vessels to be just as special as the fragrances inside them. I imagined something beautiful, something that would add warmth to a room, and something people would genuinely want to repurpose after the final burn.

At first, I was set on finding handblown glass. I spent countless hours searching, scrolling, and studying glassmakers from all over. I found some truly stunning pieces, but the pricing would have forced me to charge far more than I would ever feel comfortable asking for a candle. So I shifted my focus to manufacturers who offered custom designs. That path looked promising for a moment, until I learned their minimum order quantities were completely out of reach. Still, the idea of creating my own custom vessel one day is a dream that remains very much alive inside of me.

Once I realized I needed to let go of the handblown glass idea, I took a deep breath and began the search again with a more open mind. Days went by, and I started wondering if anything would come close to the vision in my head. Then I found the beautiful vintage inspired glass you see in the Winter Edit today. I have always loved classic vintage design, and these vessels captured everything I hoped for. They give off a warm and cozy glow that feels exactly like the kind of light you expect to see during the holidays.

Hearing your feedback on the Winter Edit has made every hour of searching completely worth it. Your messages and comments truly mean so much.

Once the vessels were finalized, it was time to curate the fragrances. With past experience in mind, I wanted these scents to feel right not only for the holidays but also for the entire winter season. Winter in the PNW stretches well beyond December, so the aesthetic and the fragrances needed to be something you would not tire of in the January and February months.

I wanted the collection to hold everything we love about winter. Something woodsy, something warm and spicy, something reminiscent of home baked treats, and something with a bright fruity lift. My goal was to hit the mark in every category and create a lineup that felt comforting, balanced, and inviting all season long.

If you have not explored the Winter Edit yet, or even if you have, I hope this gives you a deeper look into how it all came to be. Thank you for supporting me in this creative journey. You are always at the forefront of my vision as I continue to create new collections and products.
